Mr Abdul Rehman Allana


Abdul Rehman Allana, Chairman Alsons Group and Chairman AAS Trust, has played a hands-on role in setting up and managing AAS Trust since the year 2000. Along with 16 years of experience in running residential addiction rehabilitation centres, he has also completed his Diploma in Addiction Counselling from CPPD, Counselling School UK in 2001.

Mr Asif Fancy


Asif Fancy, a graduate in economics from the University of Lancaster UK, is the Senior Adviser, Office of the President, Aga Khan University. He has remained a Member, Honorary Secretary and Chairman of Aga Khan Education Board; Member of Aga Khan Council for Pakistan and Chairman of Aga Khan Rural Support Program. Asif has been serving as Trustee for i-Care Foundation and Co-Chairman AAS Trust since 2011.

Ms Kamyla Marvi


Kamyla Marvi Tapal holds an MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK. She is a public sector professional who has more than 20 years of organisation development, programme management and leadership experience in the field of reproductive health. Currently she is a freelance consultant supporting social sector organisations and is associated with several organisations on a voluntary basis.

Mr Saeed Mirza


Saeed Mirza a graduate in professional accountancy from the University of Texas at Austin, USA, has worked in senior positions in multinational companies, both in Pakistan and abroad. He has been actively involved in charitable and business related activities. He was awarded the French civil award of “Ordre National du Merite” in 2008.

Ms Maya Ismail


Maya Ismail holds an undergraduate degree in Economics and International Relations from Smith College, USA. She joined Habib Bank Limited (HBL) in 2004, when Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development acquired HBL; she is responsible for monitoring the shareholder’s investment and is involved with developing and implementing strategies for the bank, both domestically and internationally. Currently she serves as a Deputy General Manager and the Head of Special Projects at HBL.

Dr Sohail Thobani


Dr Sohail Thobani graduated from Dow Medical College, Karachi. He then trained in General Pediatrics at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, McGill University and in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard University. His special interest is in children with problems related to the liver, intestine and growth. Currently he is working as a consultant in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition at the Aga Khan University Hospital and South City Hospital.

Ms Ayesha Mir


Ayesha Mir has extensive experience in the field of gender and development, and women’s empowerment. Her work included the overall conceptualizing, management, coordination, planning and implementation of programmes related to women’s legal rights. She has also worked with the Government of Pakistan to strengthen its women machineries. Currently she is associated with several organisations on a voluntary basis.

Ms Mehreen Manto


Mehreen Manto holds an LLM from the American University Washington College of Law and is currently a partner at Mohsin Tayebaly & Co. She has over 14 years of corporate, commercial and banking law experience, and spearheading of transactions involving project finance, merger and acquisitions, acquisition financings, public sector and infrastructure development projects.

Mr Akbar Allana


Akbar Allana, a graduate of the London Film Academy, UK, was a part of the launch team of several television channels in Pakistan. Thereafter, he worked at Alsons Autoparts, Pakistan and alongside started GrayScale, a creative production company, where he has been Chief Executive for the past 3 years.

Ms Yasmin Jaffer


Yasmin Jaffer is a graduate gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America, USA and runs a small jewellery business. She is actively involved with the Aga Khan University Hospital as a Community Advisory Member, and with the Cancer Support Programme and patient’s Behbud Society.
