Mr Abdul Rehman Allana

Chairman

Abdul Rehman Allana, Chairman Alsons Group and Chairman AAS Trust, has played a hands-on role in setting up and managing AAS Trust since the year 2000. Along with 16 years of experience in running residential addiction rehabilitation centres, he has also completed his Diploma in Addiction Counselling from CPPD, Counselling School UK in 2001.

Mr Saeed Mirza

Trustee

Saeed Mirza a graduate in professional accountancy from the University of Texas at Austin, USA, has worked in senior positions in multinational companies, both in Pakistan and abroad. He has been actively involved in charitable and business related activities. He was awarded the French civil award of “Ordre National du Merite” in 2008.

Ms Kamyla Marvi

Trustee

Kamyla Marvi Tapal holds an MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK. She is a public sector professional who has more than 20 years of organisation development, programme management and leadership experience in the field of reproductive health. Currently she is a freelance consultant supporting social sector organisations and is associated with several organisations on a voluntary basis.

Dr Sohail Thobani

Trustee

Dr Sohail Thobani graduated from Dow Medical College, Karachi. He then trained in General Pediatrics at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, McGill University and in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard University. His special interest is in children with problems related to the liver, intestine and growth. Currently he is working as a consultant in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition at the Aga Khan University Hospital and South City Hospital.

Ms Sarah Asad

Trustee

Sarah Asad is a development sector professional and has received training and exposure on leadership in the NGO sector, and children’s and women’s rights at various institutes, including LUMS; Women Leaders for the World Program at Santa Clara University; Philippines General Hospital in Manila; and Waldzell Institute in Austria. She is the first recipient of International Society for Prevention Against Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN)’s Presidential Scholarship awarded in Brisbane, Australia. She has worked extensively with vulnerable groups of women and children for the last fifteen years.

Ms Saadia Awan

Trustee

Saadia Awan is a director in her family business TCS Holdings & a trustee at The Citizens Foundation. She is deeply concerned about the effects of addiction & substance abuse on our children, especially the very vulnerable & would like to help the AAS Trust in its endeavor to make a difference in keeping our children safe from this curse.

Ms Yasmin Jaffer

Trustee

Yasmin Jaffer is a graduate gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America, USA and runs a small jewellery business. She is actively involved with the Aga Khan University Hospital as a Community Advisory Member, and with the Cancer Support Programme and patient’s Behbud Society.

Ms Mehreen Manto

Trustee

Mehreen Manto holds an LLM from the American University Washington College of Law and is currently a partner at Mohsin Tayebaly & Co. She has over 14 years of corporate, commercial and banking law experience, and spearheading of transactions involving project finance, merger and acquisitions, acquisition financings, public sector and infrastructure development projects.
